Building My HD DVD Video Library
We just bought a Blue ray HD DVD player for our HDTV. After we got it hooked up, which took a spell... I, for whatever reason or another just realized that I did not hold any HD movies for me to watch on it. Fortunate I already knew which one I craved to see firstly and that was Planet Earth.
So I got on the cyberspace and purchased it from an online store. The bad occurrence tho' is that I had to wait three days; however I did save myself around twenty dollars, so it was worth the wait. So it came with multiple disks with around three to four episodes of Planet Earth on each of the disks.
If you did not know already each instalment of Planet Earth is one hour long. So once I put in Planet Earth to analyze on our HDTV I went to the menu of the first disc for the premiere installment. As you can envisage it was quite awing how fine the illustration looked.
All of the landscapes were rich as can be in vividness and the animals looked as if they were lmoving across the screen as they moved. I was impressed also on how well Planet Earth was filmed with a HDTV camera.
Many of the animals they record in the show looks as if they are right there next to them and the animals are not even being disturbed by them being around. It is really the most surprising film of its type. One program that really impressed me is the freshwater one.
In the beginning of it, it shows Angel ... the highestl water descend in the world. Then it starts to break off from there and shows the special animals that live in the freshwater surroundings. Another thing Planet Earth does is how good it shows the over view of the land.
Some shots are taken in high Earth altitudes while others are from space viewing the landscape and everything around it. The space shots are also one of my favourite things to look at.
Of course on our HDTV it looks as worthy as it possibly can but it gives you a perception of how bittie the Earth truly is but at the same measure when it talks about several of the environments it feels that the world is very gargantuan.
When you are watching Planet Earth you may get to an environment that they begin to addressl about that just looks foreign to you. Few of the things that are in the environment seem as if it was not real and you can not even envisage about being in any of these places in true life.
One that truly shows what I am talking about is the caves film. Fundamentally what it shows you is the underground world of Earth. How things work under the surface and the unearthly little creatures that occupy the caves.
It is really something that will be hard for most people on the planet to conceive once they have seen some of the impressive animals that live on it. This film is really surprising especially if viewed on a HDTV!

Is there a DVD player that converts normal DVDs to HD quality on an HDTV?
My mother said she saw a DVD player that you could put a regular DVD into, hook it up to an HDTV, and it would play the DVD with a high-definition quality. Does such a thing exist?

Notice that some up-convert to 1080i an others to 1080p.
1080i is interlaced, used on HDTV transmitting stations.
1080p is progressive, used in Blu-ray disks.
They do a very good job, but the end-result is not as good as those originally recorded at 1080i or 1080p.
By the way, you need HDMI on your TV, if you use Component it will not up-convert to 1080 i or p.
